Last week, I shared with you a verse that has become tender to me since I have been in a somewhat word-less season in regard to my writing. Many of you responded to that post in such a positive way and I’m grateful. Because of your response, I believe the Lord is directing me to do a weekly post focusing on one verse from His precious Word. I’ve decided to call this series When Words Won’t Come…..

The truth of the matter is that I have no words that will make an eternal difference. Only God has those. He may allow me to write them or speak them, but they are still His Words. My prayer is that I will be the pen through which He places those Words on the written page or the computer screen so they can minister grace to your heart.

Today’s verse is one the Lord has been cementing in my heart for several months now; in fact, for most of 2012. Recently I have had the opportunity to share these words with two special young women. Each in a very difficult season of life, each clinging tightly to our Jesus. As the Lord has prompted me to share them, He has simultaneously seared them into my heart. I pray they minister to you today.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)

Fix Your Eyes On JESUS!
Not on the marriage in trouble,
the person speaking ill of you,
the illness taking your health,
the aging of your body,
the emptiness of your bank account,
the waywardness of your child,
the evil abounding in our world,
the upcoming elections,
the exam you will take,
or any one of a thousand other things that vie for your attention.
NO!!
Fix your eyes on Jesus.
It is only in the fixing of our eyes on the One who controls the winds and the waves; the One who created us and loves us more than we can ever imagine….
It is only when we stare steadily at Him and allow Him to lead us and guide us that we will know joy and peace, even in the midst of a world that seems to be spinning out of control.
So, my friend, let us fix our eyes on Jesus and trust His heart completely.
MEDITATION MOMENT: What would fixing your eyes on Jesus mean to you in this season of your life?
