Two posts in as many days is a bit unusual for me, but I felt led to share what the Lord is doing in my heart.
I am not a fearful person, never have been really. Now, I am a CONTROLLER, but rarely am I fearful about anything. When things get out of my control I tend to feel anxiety, but not fear.
Well, things have changed. As the Lord has drawn me deeper into ministry, I find that Satan is stalking me with something in particular that causes a great deal of fear.
This morning, as I was out walking, I asked the Lord to show me anything that was hindering my relationship with Him or hindering Him from using me for His glory. I really, really wanted to know and He was faithful to show me.
The only thing that I am truly fearful of is……..GROWING OLD AND SICK. I know that it sounds ridiculous, but again, it is a control thing.
So, when the Lord showed me that I was not trusting Him to care for me in my old age, I also asked Him to give me a promise from His Word to help me trust Him with this fear and do you know what? He did!! He is just cool like that!
Now, I know the verse that tells us that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but rather He has given us power, love and a sound mind. That was not what I needed to hear at that moment. I needed something more specific and He provided.
Isaiah 46: 4 (NLT) – “I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”
I wonder what is it that you fear? What promise has God given you from His Word to help you trust Him with that fear? Ask Him for one and He will gladly give. He doesn’t want us to fear. He wants us to trust Him completely.
