This week our church has been involved in putting on a Judgement House production. (http://www.judgementhouse.org/) “Judgement House is a dramatic walk-through presentation about the truth of people’s choices and their consequences both in this life and the next.” Over the past two nights we have had over 800 people come through the drama and have been honored to pray with at least 30 people to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I have been working on the counseling team and have been privileged to pray with several girls and ladies as they come to know Christ. We have one more night to go and we are praying for more precious souls to come to know Christ.
In my personal Bible study of the book of Proverbs this week I found a verse that is so appropriate for this week of changed lives. Proverbs 8: 17 gives us words of comfort and reassurance when it says, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” Read that last part again—“those who seek me find me”. There are so many people who are seeking Jesus and they don’t even know it. They only know that they are hurting or they are angry or they are depressed or perhaps they are soothing their hearts with drugs or alcohol, when in fact they are simply seeking Jesus.
As I counseled with one precious woman this week who came to know Christ, she told me that she had walked away from God years ago when her parents were killed. She said that she had been so angry with God over that for many years but that she was tired of being angry. As we prayed and cried together, her anger was taken away. Christ is faithful to make Himself available anytime we call.
I could tell you story after story from women that I have prayed with over the past 3 nights. Stories of hurt, anger, fear; stories of lives that need the love of Christ. As I ministered to each of these ladies I confidently assured them that they only needed to seek Jesus by confessing their sins, turning away from them and placing their faith in the One who died in their place. He had done the rest of the work by dying on the cross for them.
God loves those who love Him and He is found by those who seek Him. That is a promise that will never be broken.
