The Loft is open, come on up!
Hello Loft buddies! This week is an online version of pot-luck. {Who doesn’t like variety?} Just link up (Linky at the bottom of this post) the post of your choice and surprise us with the yummy when we visit!
About #TheLoft
The Loft is the place for conversation, community, networking, and Christian growth.
Each week we provide a topic to start the conversation.
PLEASE NOTE: We want to foster community and transparent conversation with one another, just like we’d do if we were meeting in real life. So we ask that your link stick to the weekly topic and that you mention The Loft in your post. Thank you so much!
Monday night, at 9pm Eastern, the linky goes live and all week you can link up your post on that week’s topic.
We’ll have fun topics, serious topics, practical, soul-ful, holiday, and so, so much more…we can’t wait to get started! This is not only a great way to connect with others, it’s also a fun and easy way to establish a writing habit. If you aren’t a blogger, you are welcome to join in by leaving your comments in the comment section.
So grab your coffee mug and come on up! Hang out for a bit. We bet you’ll be glad you did.
To Participate:
1. Be creative. Feel free to use words, photos, video, audio, your family pet, whatever, to communicate on the weekly topic. But please stick to the weekly topic 🙂
2. Listen twice as much as you talk. If you leave one link, visit two. Trust us on this one~wink.
3. Be a community. Include #TheLoft graphic and/or link back in your post so we can find each other. Also, share the great stuff you find when you visit around…we’ll be doing the same.
When you link up at The Loft, your link will appear on 5 blogs! We’d love for you to visit The Loft co-hosts and know who we are:
Now it’s time to link up!
Today it is pot luck here at The Loft ( #TheLoft ). When my home girls get together for a pot luck meal, no one asks, ‘what do you want me to bring’. Everyone knows it is true pot luck…bring whatever lights your fire. If we have all desserts and no veggies, well, what a tragedy!!
So, today my contribution to the pot luck is a plethora of random photos off my iPhone. Pictures tell the stories of our lives. Here is a bit of my life, peeps.
Ahh, life in a small town. The customer service representative at the bank is a girl who was a couple of years behind me in high school. She knew me by my maiden name and put it on the checking account paperwork instead of my married name. That’s truly old school.
Two days each week I am a pharmacist. This is my life on those days.
Southern Living’s Apple Stack Cake. Whew, it was something else. Eight full inches tall, 6 pounds of apples, and lots of yum!! I made it for the first Georgia football game. Honestly, there were too many apples for my liking. If I make it again, I will cook the apples down more so they are the consistency of applesauce.
Looks can be deceiving. That is NOT a garden hose strung from one plant into the other. It is a king snake crawling into my planter at the front door. Needless to say, a snake massacre ensued, and the snake lost. The only good snake is a dead snake. THAT piece of wisdom is not up for discussion at my house. Please don’t email me and tell me that black snakes kill the bad snakes. THEY ARE ALL BAD as far as I am concerned. Blech!!
My exercise regimen includes walking and swimming. On the days that Jesus and I walk, here is where we find ourselves.
The art of biscuit making is one that I have been trying to perfect for many years. I think I am getting close. These little darlins were pure bliss on the taste buds.
Yup, this one cracked me up. Found it in the ladies room at a local restaurant. I laughed out loud when I read it.
This oil painting is of my Daddy and Mother on their wedding day, August 16, 1958. It hangs in my Mother’s room.
Ever woke up in the morning and feel like you spent the entire night sleeping like this? Yeah, me too!
I love hay bales. I’m convinced there will be lots of them in heaven. They speak peace into my heart.
Next Week’s Topic: “Trust” (Opening another can of worms here, but let’s go there anyway~ wink. Is trust hard for you? Why or why not? What area are you struggling to trust God in? What have you learned about trust? The floor is open!)
