Welcome to Sharing Life…..where women do life with other women. If you are just dropping in on our Friday series for the first time, WELCOME!!! I am so glad you are here. Sharing Life is a place where I, and some of my friends, can speak into your life on a few topics, and you can speak into mine. It is a place of mentoring, friendship, and encouragement.
I would love for you to visit a few of the other Sharing Life posts to get a flavor for my heart for this series. Here are links to a few of them:

Sharing Life….Thinking About Thinking
Today I thought we would do something fun that will help us get to know each other. Sometimes we just need moments when we share about what goes on in our lives. That is what today is all about at Sharing Life. I am going to share a funny food/cooking story that will give you a glimpse into my life. Then, in the comments I would love for you to share a food/cooking story. It can be funny or sad or eye-opening, but make it a story that gives a glimpse into your life. Deal? Deal!
So, here is my story. It is one that my husband and I have laughed about so many times over the past 20 years. He was completely innocent and had the noblest of intentions in the whole thing, and bless his heart, almost got himself into a pickle. Here is my story.
A couple of years after Greg and I married, we hosted a pot-luck lunch for our families. Everyone brought wonderful dishes, because well, we have some amazing cooks in our families. We had a good time eating and visiting. A few people were kind enough to leave us a helping or two of the dishes they brought. Greg’s mom left her always amazing Sweet Potato Casserole with the yummy praline pecan topping.
Later that evening, Greg and I were picking through the leftovers, filling our tummies with a second helping of family goodness. As Greg munched on Sweet Potato Casserole with Praline Pecan topping he looked at me and said, “Babe, this is the BEST sweet potato casserole you have ever made.”
Now, he could have said ‘this is good sweet potato casserole’, or ‘you did a good job making this sweet potato casserole’. But noooooooo, he said, ‘this is the BEST sweet potato casserole YOU have ever made.
I looked at him, with eyebrows raised and said, “That’s because your Mother made it.”
Well, what could he say at that point? He had done a jack-knife into the deep end and didn’t even realize he was nowhere near the pool. Bless his heart!! He just kept quite and continued to eat. Fortunately for him, I do not get offended easily!! Greg is always so complimentary about my cooking, so I knew his heart was in the right place.
Now, tell me your food or cooking story. Leave a comment below. Alternatively, you may email it to me at [email protected] and I will share it in a comment here.
Hope you have a great weekend. It is the start of college football, so we will be all about the Georgia Bulldogs game on Saturday. Go Dawgs!!!!
