I have many ponderings rumbling around in my heart this week. I won’t bore you with the details; however, I will share something the Lord spoke clearly into my heart this morning in my quiet time with Him. Perhaps it will bless you.
It started with Isaiah 45: 18-19 (NLT):
For the LORD is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos.”I am the LORD,” he says, “and there is no other. I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner so no one can understand what I mean. And I did not tell the people of Israel to ask me for something I did not plan to give. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and right.
Here is what the Lord spoke to me:
“Leah, I have never had an identity crisis. Even thousands of years later, I am still pleased with what I wrote into the Scriptures. I’ve never said to myself, ‘I sure wish I had not put that in there.’”
Friends, even if some pastors, teachers, and churches attempt to water down the Word of God, God never waters it down or wishes He had not put certain things into the Scriptures. I am more convinced than ever this morning that the Lord is calling me and many others in ministry to an unyielding Scriptural stand. (Unyielding is very different from unloving; be sure you understand that.) Even with the hard topics, we, in ministry, must stand solidly on God’s Word, teaching the whole counsel of the Word and not ignoring the difficult topics. We must do it with the love and compassion of Jesus flowing out of our hearts. God calls us to speak the truth in love.
That’s it.
