New Word Wednesday

Today’s NEW WORD is one that is actually not ‘new’ to me, rather it is one that I rarely think to use, despite the fact that there is usually ample opportunity to do so. Hopefully, by focusing on it here, it will come to my mind more readily.  Here goes:

HISTRIONIC(S): deliberate affected: THEATRICAL; of or relating to actors, acting, or the theater; a deliberate display of emotion for effect.

The final part of the definition is the one that I will focus on.

USAGE: Susie May’s HISTRIONICS, which ranged from crying to loud talk, were designed to draw attention to herself.
