Cajole: (ka-jole’) – to persuade with flattery or gentle urging especially in the face of reluctance: coax; to obtain from someone by gentle persuasion; to deceive with soothing words or false promises.
USAGE: Because Kristin has a beautiful voice, we attempted to cajole her into singing a solo for the group.
