As I think about Living Thankful, today I am thankful for the corporate body of Christ. I am such a huge fan of interdenominational ministry because the body of Christ is interdenominational. When we get to heaven there will be believers from all sorts of denominations who believe in Jesus as the provider of salvation and the ONLY way to heaven. I have friends who are Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Non-denominational, Church of God, Church of Christ and so much more. The body of Christ is BEA-U-TI-FUL and beautifully diverse!! God forbid that I ever limit the ministry He has given me to one specific denomination.
Since this is my blog, I’m going to get on my soapbox for a moment. I DO NOT believe Christ is pleased with all the denominational bickering that takes place…whether between denominations or within them. As far as I am concerned, as long as we agree that Jesus is the only way to heaven, that He was the sinless Son of God born of a virgin, that He died to pay the penalty for our sin and then rose on the third day to provide eternal life, and that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, we are GOOD. Those things are NON-NEGOTIABLE in my opinion. We need to give a little grace to those who believe differently about the negotiables and stop the bickering. PLEASE!
