God is totally in teaching mode with me right now. As I have shared in the past, my Tuesday morning small group is doing Precept Ministries’ Revelation Part 2 Bible study. I feel like the cartoon character whose head spins around and around. It seems that every time I sit to study, the Lord gives me a new ‘revelation’.

May I take a moment and share with you a taste of what I’ve been reminded of as I study this magnificent book?

  • Jesus WILL return as the ruling, reigning Messiah.
  • Jesus DOES stay involved with His church.
  • God ABSOLUTELY has a plan for this world.
  • God is working that plan in HIS timing.
  • NO SIN, no disobedience, goes unnoticed by God.
  • The seals, trumpets, and bowl judgments are BAD for unbelievers. You don’t want to be on the receiving end of them.
  • God will protect His CHILDREN.
  • I’m hoping for a pre-tribulation rapture, but if it doesn’t happen, then I TRUST my God.
  • Satan is a LIAR and a DECEIVER. Don’t be fooled by him.
  • God is unbelievably PATIENT, not wanting anyone to go to hell. Hell, however, is your choice. To not choose Jesus is to choose hell. It’s as simple as that.
  • Choose Jesus NOW. One day it will be too late.
  • Good things come to those who are FAITHFUL to Christ.
  • God never meant for us to understand every jot and tittle of Revelation. If we did, we would be God.  I’m definitely not God, so, I’m pretty content not to understand it all and believe it by FAITH.

Another place the Lord is teaching me is through preparation for an upcoming ladies event where I will be speaking. The topic (the Lord has chosen for me to speak on) is submission and obedience. Oh yeah, I definitely get the fun topics!! Topics like those always cause a bit of angst that God will make you the poster child for said topics. The truth is that I have learned a little bit about submission and obedience over the years. Although I don’t always get it right, I’m doing better. The Lord has been very specific with me on the Scripture for this message and that is good. That way I know I’m on the right track. So, any prayers you can utter on my behalf as I write this message would be a huge blessing to me.

What have I been reminded of in my preparation of this message?

  • God is serious about His children obeying His commands.
  • Obedience and submission are heart and trust issues. Either God is trustworthy or He is not.
  • Partial obedience is still disobedience.
  • Trying to cover up disobedience won’t work. God has eyes in the back of His head!
  • There are consequences for disobedience and lack of submission…and they can be painful.
  • There is safety in obedience and submission.
  • We don’t have to understand WHY God is asking us to do something. All we have to do is be obedient.

So, there you go, friends. My thoughts for today. What is God teaching you? I’d love to know. Share with us in the comments.

NOTE: I will be attending the Catalyst Conference on Thursday and Friday, so there will not be a Friday Blessings post this week. I do hope to share some of the things that I experienced and learned at Catalyst one day next week.
