I’M BLESSED!!!
Yes, that is in all caps because I am shouting it.
I AM BLESSED!
This weekend I had the honor of speaking in Warner Robins at Second Baptist’s Ladies’ Christmas Brunch and this event was my final one for 2011. I can’t wait to tell you more about it, but that will have to wait until I get my laptop back later in the week and I can download some pictures to show you. So, push the hold button on that for now.
As I close the ministry books on 2011, a flood of emotion wells up inside my heart that threatens to bring on an UGLY CRY. It is a cry of thankfulness….a cry of amazement….that God would allow me to serve His girls. Me? Someone with such a hideous track record of faith earlier in my life. Me? A woman who walked away from her Lord in her twenties and served the idols of this world with such intensity it should have killed me. Yes! Me! A girl who knows the full measure of forgiveness, love, second chances, and restoration from God.
I have had the privilege of serving ladies at 10 events in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and South Carolina this year. The event coordinators I worked with this year were incredible. The ladies who attended these events were eager to hear from the Lord and responded in huge ways to the messages He gave me. I was especially delighted to have the opportunity to speak to several groups made up primarily of younger women. While I love speaking to women of all ages, it is the younger women who I have a burning desire to reach. If the words God gives me could help just one of them make better choices than I made……Do it, Lord!!
The legacy we are leaving for the generations that come behind us (the topic of my Bible study) has been my main topic as I spoke in 2011. Out of that message, the issue of modesty in dress is always the one that generates the most feedback. I pray that in some way the words I say about this issue might be a tiny spark that ignites a passion for modest fashion among women, young and old.
I am humbled at how God placed the Legacy Bible study in so many places around the nation…and how He continues to do that. Places I will likely never be able to physically go and speak, yet God sends the words He gave me to write. Thank you, if you led my study this year or in 2010. You honored me by doing that and I am grateful. I am still amazed that God allowed me to be the vehicle through which He wrote the study. Stunned!! In 2012, two different online ministries will lead From the Trash Pile to the Treasure Chest: Creating a Godly Legacy for their readers. Numerous ladies Bible study groups around the country have done the study and I pray many more will in 2012. I AM BLESSED!
If I have served you in any way in 2011, please know it was my honor and privilege. Whether it was through my speaking, the Legacy Bible study, or my writing, I do not take lightly the honor of serving you. Thank you for attending events where I spoke, reading my blog, and doing my study. Thank you!! I highly esteem you and am very grateful.
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for allowing me to serve your girls. Thank you for not giving up on me when I was of little use to you. Thank you, Jesus, for allowing me to serve out of my passion and love for public speaking….speaking the Word of God. Thank you for placing From the Trash Pile to the Treasure Chest: Creating a Godly Legacy in the hands of so many women across this country. Use it, Lord, because it is your work and your words. Use me, Lord, for your work. Thank you, Jesus. You are AMAZING!!
Romans 12: 1-2 (NLT) continues to be my theme for the ministry God has appointed to me. I invite you to make it yours, as well.
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice — the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.
