God promises to hear our prayers if they are uttered in accordance with His will. Today I challenge you to ask Him once again to break your heart over sin—your own and that of our nation. Ask Him to show you anything in your own heart that breaks His heart. I know we have prayed this previously, but really, this is one prayer we should pray every day of our lives.
If you have prayed this prayer for any length of time, I imagine He has shown you an ugly in your own heart. I know He has done it with me. He has shown me pride, jealousy, idolatry, and so much more over the years that I have prayed this prayer. Praise God that as we confess those uglies to Him, He is faithful to forgive us and restore our intimacy with Him. Thank you, Jesus!!
