It’s Friday….and that means Friday Blessings. Here are mine for the week.

Blessings

{#271} – Soup weather – Granted, I am not a huge eater of soup, but cool temperatures turn my thoughts to making soup for my man, who loves it. Over the years of being married to him, I have come to enjoy some soups. This past weekend I make homemade chicken noodle soup and chili. While I didn’t eat any of the chicken noodle soup, I totally enjoyed the chili. Warm food on cool days. Yes, definitely a blessing.

{#272} – Vesper services at YHC – On Wednesday last week, Greg and I attended the weekly vesper service at Young Harris College. Bree was speaking (you can read part of her speech here) and she did a great job. We thoroughly enjoyed the service with its dynamic worship music and thought-provoking message from Rev. Amy.

{#273} – Freedom in Christ – Friends, there is freedom in Christ Jesus. We do not have to be bound by the gazillion laws that enslaved the Israelites of antiquity. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Walk in your freedom! Praise Him!!

{#274} – Writing – This weekend a bit of my writing mojo settled back in upon me. I began writing the content for another Care and Share booklet that I hope to publish with Warner Press. This one will be taken from my Legacy Bible study.

{#275} – Church – This past weekend, our church hosted Rev. David Ring for three services. If you have never been blessed to sit under David’s ministry, you have missed a lot. I heard him speak the first time in the 1980’s when I was a member of FBC Snellville. David was born with cerebral palsy. He has joy in his journey in life. His handicap is not a barrier to his desire and ability to share the love of Jesus. He is a blessing and a reminder that we are all blessed.

{#276} – Health – I know I have listed this before, but every day I am so thankful for good health. I am blessed with good health. It is very rare that I am sick and I do not take this for granted.

{#277} – Compassion daughters – This week I sat down and wrote to my two ‘daughters’ that I sponsor through Compassion International. Ruth, age 9 and Upendo, age 6, both live in Tanzania. Each month I give a small amount of money so they can attend school, get a hot meal, medical care, and assistance for their family. I write to them on a regular basis. Honestly, I feel like I do so little, but they are so grateful to me for my sponsorship. I love getting letters from them and hearing what is going on in their lives.  If you do not sponsor a child, or children, through Compassion International, or another organization, you are missing a huge blessing.

{#278} – The Whole Woman Radio Show – Yesterday I was a guest on Lisa Shaw’s BlogTalk Radio program, The Whole Woman. We chatted it up about legacy, faith, character, and holiness. I do not claim to have cornered the market on any of these topics, but I have made my share of mistakes and have a spot of wisdom to share about them. If sharing the wisdom God has given me in these areas can help someone else, then I am blessed to be able to do it. Lisa is a gem, and I always enjoy being on her program. In case you missed it, you can go here to listen to the show.

What blessings are you counting today? Come on, I know you have been blessed. Let me hear about them in the comments.
