Good morning! I hope you have had a wonderful week. Have you discovered blessings from the Lord that you can count with me today? I’ve missed these Friday posts, because they encourage me to be intentional about recognizing the blessings that God has showered on me. So, I’m back at it with another Friday Blessings post today.

Blessings

{#245} – Social Media Break – When I decided in early September to step away from Facebook, I wasn’t sure how I would fare. I’ve always tried to use FB primarily for ministry, but a lot of life-stuff inevitably got thrown in. Now, after almost 4 weeks away from Facebook, as well as my blog, I’ve been reminded that neither are necessities. In fact, it is refreshing to not feel the urge to post on FB several times a day. I’m not sure many people realize how much they are on Facebook. I know I certainly did not. Between my computer and my mobile device, FB ate up a lot of time. Talk about a time waster! Facebook is definitely a vortex that sucks you in. I will be back on Facebook, but will limit my time significantly, and will use it mostly for ministry. I want to be a better steward of my time going forward.

{#246} – Speaking Engagement – I have been blessed with an invitation to speak at FBC Sandersville Ladies’ event on Thursday evening, November, 14th. I consider it a high and holy privilege any time the Lord affords me the opportunity to speak His word to an audience. If you live in the Sandersville area (or even if you don’t), it would be such fun to see you there. Click the link above to visit the church’s website.

{#247} – 31 Year Class Reunion – On September 14th, I was blessed to attend my 31-year high school class reunion. We had about 19 of our classmates present, out of a class of 115. We were also blessed to have our guidance counselor, Mrs. Jo George, with us, as well as our chemistry and physics teacher, Mr. Charles Adams and his wife, Betty. (Mr. and Mrs. Adams also happen to be my in-laws). Even though we were few in number, the time was precious. We have reached that age where petty high school issues are behind us. We talked, laughed, reminisced, cried a few tears, and enjoyed renewing old friendships. It had been 11 years since our last reunion, and the atmosphere was different this time. I think it was because we all realize that time is fleeting, and relationships are what matters in this world. I left the reunion with a heart overflowing with thankfulness for the opportunity to see these special folks once again. Here are a few pictures from the day.

{#248} – 75 degrees – I adore autumn. I also am crazy about cool weather. This past Sunday, the weather was amazing. Greg and I got back into Blairsville from our weekend in Athens, stepped out of the car and stood in awe of the beautiful weather. 75 degrees in the middle of the day. YES!!! What a blessing to feel the cool air on my face. The skies were beautifully blue and we had a clear view of Brasstown Bald Mountain, the highest peak in Georgia. Blessing! Blessing! Blessing!!

{#249} – Tulip on my Desk – When I got unpacked on Sunday afternoon, I sat down at my computer desk and saw this:

Our sweet Bree, and her roommate, Emily, stayed at our house while we were gone. Bree planted this beautiful handmade tulip on my desk. My heart smiled so big at this precious blessing. Greg and I are so blessed to have Bree as part of our family.

{#250} – Revelation – As I have shared before, my Tuesday small group is doing Precept Ministries Bible study, Revelation – Part 2. I am learning so much, seeing things I had never seen in Revelation, and finding a deeper trust in my Jesus, as I see Him exalted as the ultimate ruler of heaven and earth. We are planning to do Parts 3 and 4 of Revelation, and I can’t wait.

{#251} – An Old Dog Learns New Tricks – It really is true…you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Until about 3 years ago, I was not a football fan. I didn’t understand the game, and never could keep track of the ball when it was in play. Then, we began going to the Georgia games. My man loves college football. He played in high school, and probably could have played in college if he had not messed his knee up his senior year in high school. So, because I love Greg, I purposed to learn the game. I have had a great teacher in Greg. I still have a lot to learn, but now I enjoy going to the games. I take my binocs to help me stay focused on the game and the players. The best part of the game is that I get a kiss from my man for every touchdown Georgia makes!!!!!! Go DAWGS!!!!

{#252} – A Word from the LORD – I have been praying about the topic of my message for the November event. The Lord clearly showed me what it was last week. Then I began praying about the focal Scripture for the message. Praise Him, He showed that to me yesterday while I was eating lunch and researching words associated with my topic. This is how I prepare messages…praying through each portion of it until the Lord gives it to me. It is such a blessing to have each piece provided in God’s timing. He’s given me the topic, the focal Scripture passage, and the outline. Now, I’m asking Him for the words, accompanying Scripture passages, and illustrations. I’m very needy when it comes to speaking for HIM!

What blessings are you counting today?
