{#242} – Safe travel – I must give a huge praise to the Lord for protecting Greg and me last weekend. We spent the Labor Day weekend in Boone, North Carolina camping with friends. The route to and from Boone from our home has several steep mountains to climb or descend, depending on which way you are traveling. On the way back home, about 45 minutes from home, the ABS light on Greg’s truck came on, then went off, came on again, then went off. We got home without any trouble and Greg called the Ford dealership to see if they could take a look at it this week. The dealership told him that the bolts were coming out of the ring gears in the rear end, and had apparently broken off the end of the ABS sensor. It appeared that almost any time the ring gears could have come loose, and locked up the rear end of the truck, or caused any number of other disasters. (NOTE: We were towing a 15,000 pound RV.) They had no explanation for why the problem occurred in the first place…just a freak occurrence. Upon arriving home, we also discovered that the left tire on the rear axle of the trailer was separating, and could have blown out at any minute. We do regular maintenance on our vehicles and the trailer tire had less than 7500 miles on it. I praise God that nothing happened to us. Thank you, Jesus, for protecting us. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
{#243} – Precious friends – This is a blessing, but also a prayer need. Greg and I are blessed to be friends with a precious older couple, Charles and Betty Blair. They have been such a sweet presence in our lives for several years. Recently, Charles fell and experienced a seizure that incapacitated him. He is currently in the local nursing home for rehab. Would you please join me in praying for Charles’ health and for sweet Betty, as she journeys this difficult path of watching her groom struggle with his health? It would mean the world to me if you would pray for this wonderful couple.
[#244} – Rest and relaxation – As I said above, Greg and I spent the weekend in Boone, NC on a camping trip with friends. Greg and I had been to Boone several times in the past, but our friends had never visited the area. In spite of NO TELEVISION (horrors for my man) and Georgia Bulldogs loss to Clemson, we had a good weekend. Here are a few pictures from our time in Boone.
What blessings are you counting today?
