Blessings

{#171} – Kaycee – Last weekend, Greg and I were blessed to have one of Bree’s friends stay with us for a few days. Kaycee is a delightful young woman who is doing an internship with my friends, Brad and Lisa over at Cold Nose College. Kaycee and I had a few opportunities to chat about important life stuff. I love being able to be involved in the lives of young men and women.

{#172} – Rain – To be sure, we have not had a shortage of rain here in north Georgia. I am grateful for the rain on my lawn and garden. Whenever there is a thunderstorm, Greg and I grab our jackets and park ourselves on the deck to watch and listen. I adore a good thunderstorm.

{#173} – Fresh Collards – On Saturday night I cooked a batch of fresh collard greens from our garden for dinner. Kaycee had told us that she liked collards and I had promised her that mine would be the best she had ever eaten. (humble, aren’t I?) They were good.

{#174} – WWWC – I know you think that might stand for a wrestling (or as it is pronounced here in the south ‘rastlin’) program, but NOT!! WWWC stands for When Words Won’t Come. That was the title of a series I did right here on my blog last year. WWWC is now the title of a new devotion book published by Warner Press and written by yours truly. It is the cutest little book packed full of my When Words Won’t Come posts. It is now available for pre-order from Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble. and will be in Christian bookstores soon. More info will be forthcoming.

{#175} – My editor – Although Karen Rhodes and I have never met, I already think she is ‘Da Bomb’. The senior editor at Warner Press, she has been so awesome to work with and I am incredibly grateful that she has felt like my writing is worth publishing. Thanks Karen. You’re the best.

{#176} – Job – I am so blessed to have a job that pays well and helps pay our bills.

{#177} – Garden bounty – In addition to our collard greens, we are eating fresh lettuce and broccoli out of our garden. Oh sweet mercy, it is so good and so much fresher than what you buy in the grocery store.

{#178} – Greg – Although I don’t tell him nearly often enough, he is a blessing to me. The Lord put us together….for better or worse. I’m sure sometimes Greg is convinced it is for worse when I am irritable and out of sorts. Greg is the half of us who is thoughtful and wise. He always has great insight and is willing to share it when asked. He is a great dad and a SUPERB dentist. He has a quick wit and a funny sense of humor. He’s a blessing to me!

{#180} – The privilege of prayer – I can talk to the King of Creation, the President of the Universe, the Great I Am any time I want to. The crazy thing is that He wants to talk to me. Seriously, it blows my mind.

What blessings are you counting today?
