This week as we prepare to celebrate Resurrection Day on Sunday, the Holy Spirit is prompting me to view this most important of holidays through the lens of one of the most well known passages in all of Scripture. 1 Corinthians 13. The Love Chapter.
Each day this week, I invite you to join me as we glimpse the sacrifice of Jesus and the incredible resurrection through the lens of LOVE.
WEDNESDAY – LOVE is not proud……… 1 Corinthians 13:4
5 Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. 7 He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. 8 And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross. Philippians 2: 5-8 (NLT)
It has been said that the true measure of a servant heart is how one reacts when they are treated like a servant. ( click to tweet )
Of all who have ever walked this earth, Jesus surely did not deserve to be treated as a slave. Yet, He humbly and willingly relinquished His rights as God and took the form of a man…a created being. He endured the unspeakable…..so you and I could live eternally with God in heaven.
Love is not proud………….
