Ok, I know it is highly unusual for me to post twice in one week and certainly twice in one day (see next post), but something I have read today is burning a hole in the pocket of my tiny little mind and I need to share it with you. I figure the Holy Spirit knows that someone out there needs to ponder on this.
I am reading Priscilla Shirer’s book “A Jewel in His Crown”. It is such an awesome book, especially for women. So often we struggle with our identity and our physical appearance and this book is so right on target. I am just getting a blessing out of every page. As one who struggled with anorexia for years, I believe that there are many jewels to be found in this book.
At the end of chapter one, Priscilla asks some very thought provoking questions that I wanted to share with you. Think about yourself as the daughter of the King of the Universe, the beloved and very special daughter as you read these questions. I challenge you to read them slowly and really ponder your answers and seek the Lord’s heart. I can’t wait to hear from you and what the Holy Spirit shows you as a result.
- What does the Lord want to teach you about being a woman of God?
- What things have you done that have steered you away from being a woman of excellence?
- How do you see yourself?
- How do you think others see you?
- Are you the woman who is profiled in 1 Peter 3:1-5? Proverbs 31? Why or why not?
- As a diamond in the rough, what things can you see in yourself that Christ needs to refine?
