Ya’ll this is so exciting to me…reading the verses you are choosing, knowing that we are working on this together. WE ARE FAM-I-LY!! Do you remember that song from Sister Sledge? Wow, I’m really dating myself, aren’t I? But that is what we are…a Scripture memorizing family of folks in love with Jesus!! Yahoo!!
Psalm 139 is proving to be such a wonderful passage for memorization for me. Daily I am reminded of just how familiar the Lord is with me. To Him, I am not some casual acquaintance or far off friend. He knows me—the good, the bad and the ugly….and He still loves me–yes, He even likes me. Does anyone need to know that other than me?
However, Psalm 139: 4 stops me dead in my tracks!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about conviction. I’ve been rocking along abiding in His care for me and then I am SMACKED in the face with Psalm 139:4. This is my verse for the next two weeks and I’m already sensing a huge work that He is going to do in me because of it. Ok, here it is:
Psalm 139:4 (NIV)
Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
Aaaarrggghhhh!! I feel like Lucy in the Peanuts comic strip. I just want to bang my head on the wall in frustration because so often that word on my tongue gets out of my mouth before I can close my lips. Lord, help me to remember to give all my words and my tongue to you each day.
Ok, friends, post away. Can’t wait to see what you are memorizing for Challenge 2010 – Verse 4.
