I am loving memorizing Psalm 139. It is such an intensely personal Psalm that speaks about God’s love and care for us.
Is there a human being in your life that knows EVERYTHING, and I mean everything about you…..and loves you anyway? Do they know when you sit and when you stand, when you go out and when you lie down? Hmmm, maybe there is.
Is there another human who knows what you are thinking 100% of the time? Personally, I would not like any other human knowing what I am thinking 100% of the time. I fear there would be way too much shame and condemnation involved. Not so with God. He knows our every thought—and loves us anyway.
That is almost more than I can process, for there are many times that my thoughts are not very lovely. I am so glad that God is God. I desperately need His love and there is great comfort in knowing that He will never stop loving me, even when my thoughts are less than loving!
Ok, now on to my 3rd verse in Challenge 2010.
Psalm 139: 3 (NIV)
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are
familiar with all my ways.
