My dear Scripture memorizing friends,
We are 6 verses into Challenge 2010!!! Yea!! Way to go!! If you haven’t posted your 6th verse, please go here to do that.
This is about the point where many people drop out because…..
….because they forget to remember.
….because it is too much work.
….because they see no results or return.
So, I wanted us to take some time to have an old fashioned testimony time. Today’s post is all about telling others what benefit you have discovered for yourself as you have hidden God’s Word in your heart. Perhaps God used a specific verse to speak to you in a time of need. Perhaps you were able to use a verse you had learned (anytime…not just in Challenge 2010) to help someone else. The possibilities are endless.
Here is mine…
Last year, as I was participating in Beth’s Siesta Scripture Memory Challenge, I memorized Jude 24 and 25:
“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling; and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. To God our Father, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty; dominion and power, both now and forever more. Amen!!”
I stumble so often and being a Type A, perfectionist, control freak those stumbles are extra hard for me. So to be able to remind myself that Jesus is able to keep me from stumbling if I will seek Him, is huge. Not only that, because of His blood covering my sin and stumbles, God doesn’t see me as faulty. He sees me as faultless as I stand before Him–both in this life and in the one to come. Huge!! Huge!! Huge!!
Ok, it is your turn. Give a shout out to the Word and how memorizing Scripture has impacted your life. Be sure to let us know which verse(s) made the impact. Type ’em out so others can read them. Let’s encourage our brothers and sisters to hide God’s Word in their hearts!!
