First, let me offer a disclaimer. Greg and I were out of town and could not participate in what you are about to see. I am so sad we missed it, but I’m hoping for a chance to participate in another ‘Be the Church’ Sunday.
Now, let me explain what you are about to see. Our church has two Sunday services: a traditional and a contemporary. This past Sunday those of us who worship in the contemporary service were challenged to show up for the service in our work clothes and be ready to go out into our community and BE THE CHURCH. In this video you will see all kinds of work being done to help others. When Christians step outside themselves and outside our comfort zones to help others, we are truly being the church of Jesus. Jesus stepped way outside Himself and outside His comfort zone when He came to earth to helps us, as well as while He was on earth. Jesus showed us what the CHURCH should look like when He touched those who were untouchable, loved those who were unloveable, and died for those who were not worth dying for (that’s me and that’s you).
So, today let’s find a way to BE THE CHURCH, step outside our usual world and touch those who need Jesus.
