This is not an “official” edition of The Point, but rather the confused ramblings of an exhausted mind. So I will ramble on…..

Why am I exhausted you ask? Yesterday was the annual “Times of Refreshing Interdenominational Ladies Event” at which I spoke. This is an event for ladies that the Lord gave me the vision for many years ago. Yesterday was the 4th time that we had done this event and it was such a high. I worked with an awesome group of ladies whose hearts are so very much into women’s ministry. We begin planning this event in the late summer each year and bathe–no baptize–it in prayer from beginning to end. We seek the Lord’s guidance for everything from the speakers down to the decorations, which we worked on all day Friday, by the way. The HOLY SPIRIT showed up in a major way yesterday and 233 ladies worshipped the Lord, Jesus Christ in a sweet and mighty way!! Can I hear an AMEN???!!!!!

Our theme for the event was “Be A Blessing” and I taught from Genesis 12 and Hebrews 12. The Lord guided me to talk about being a blessing as we answer the call that God places on each of our lives. So many ladies told me that it was such a timely message for them. Praise You, Jesus!! My prayer is that I would speak only HIS words and never my own. Our awesome Director of Media Ministries at FBC, Wes, videoed my teaching and with any luck I will be able to link you to my message before too long. Stay tuned!!

Oh, back to the confused ramblings…. As I was out exercising this morning and talking to the Lord in the aftermath of the awesome day I had yesterday, I said, “Lord, I love you.” It suddenly occurred to me that in proportion to what Jesus has done for me, my love is SO small. Trying to compare my love for Christ to His love for me is like comparing an anthill to the Empire State Building. I almost went to my knees in the middle of the road as I asked Him to forgive me for not having a greater love for Him and I was once again convicted to ask Him to help me love Him more.

Every time I think about the fact that He condescends to love me and, for heaven’s sake, use me, it just blows my poor little mind. Why would He even bother? Oh, it just makes me love Him more!!! And, it makes me want others to know Him and His amazing love.

I love that song by Chris Tomlin, “Amazing Love”. The chorus says:

“Amazing love,
How can it be
That You, my King,
would die for me?
Amazing love,
I know it’s true.
It’s my joy to honor You,
In all I do, I honor You.”

Today, I honor You, my King, my Lord, My Savior. I love you, Jesus!!
