Friends,
Are you as concerned as I am about the direction America is going? Do you feel as though we have passed the point of no return? Have we?
Hardly a day goes by that I do not think of how far America has fallen just in my lifetime….50 years. It is mind-blowing to think about, really. So much of society calls ‘right’ what was called ‘wrong’ only a generation ago. Morals have decayed. Marriage and the family have suffered stunning blows. Human trafficking is epidemic in America. Children are being sacrificed on the altar of convenience. Our financial system is in decline. The government is one big, spectacular mess, with lots of fighting and backstabbing, and very little getting accomplished.
If history holds true, America, as we know it, is not far from complete ruin. Does it feel like there is no hope?
I believe there is hope, but only if America turns back to God. A turning back must begin with the people of God….those who name the name of Jesus Christ over their lives. WE must take seriously the admonition of 2 Chronicles 7:14, and humble ourselves, seek God’s face, confess our sins (both individually and corporately), and ask God to save America. This is not something for someone else to do. It is something that I must do, and YOU must do.
I want to share with you an URGENT CALL TO PRAYER that has been sounded by Anne Graham Lotz. The daughter of evangelist Billy Graham, Lotz is asking followers of Jesus Christ to engage in 7~7~7. (Information taken from Lotz’s website)
- For God the Father to restrain, protect, and deliver His people from the evil that has come into our world.
- For God the Son to be exalted, magnified, and glorified in His church, in our nation, and in our lives.
- For God the Holy Spirit to fall on us in a fresh way, compelling the church to repent of sin and our nation to return to faith in the living God, resulting in a great national spiritual awakening.
