Now, on to our topic for today. BACK TO SCHOOL.

I, for one, loved school. I loved the studying, the challenge, the friendships, the teachers. Flitter, I even loved the food. The only time I did not love going back to school was in first grade. I cried on the first day. Copious amounts of tears. I did not want to leave my parents and my Ninnie. I wanted to stay home. I was frightened. I was full of anxiety.

Finally, my Daddy looked at me and said, “Dry it up! Or I will spank you.”

Well, that’s all it took. I did my six year old best to stop crying because I did not want a spanking.

My Daddy’s stern warning did not remove the anxiety of stepping into something new, but it did strongly encourage me to cease my crying and just go and get ‘er done.

Fast forward 46 years.

Oftentimes, I feel like I am that 6 year old once again. It seems like God just about always has me in some sort of ‘schooling’, seeking to teach me to trust Him and molding me to look more like Jesus. Life rarely stays the same, and in this season, nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is as I had thought it would be. There have been many, many changes in my life in the past 2 years. God sent me ‘back to school’ to teach me to trust His heart even in…especially in….the most difficult season of my life.

And you know what?

I have found Him incredibly faithful!

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” Psalm 56:3 (NIV)

So, if God has you going ‘back to school’ to teach you a lesson in trust, or to work out something in your heart that does not belong there, I pray you are able to trust HIS HEART of love for you. He is so very faithful.

THE

We are a topic driven link-up, which means that we link posts that pertain to the topic of the week. Posts that are not on topic will be deleted.

We will offer a month’s worth of topics each week so you can plan and prepare for a post that helps you enter into the conversation. Here are the topics for the next month:

August 3 ~ Back to School

August 10 ~ Knowing God’s Will

August 17 ~ Social Media

August 24 ~ Books

Just a reminder that the link-up goes live on Wednesday morning at 5am and will stay live until the following Monday at 5pm. If you link up at The Loft, please do not link-and-run. We want to create conversation and community, therefore, we ask that if you linkup one post, please visit two others. There are some beautiful people who link-up each week, and visiting their posts is the best way to get to know them.

Now, it is time to get to today’s link-up. Our prompt today is BACK TO SCHOOL. Share a post about going back to school. You will find the linky at the bottom of my post. Enjoy the fellowship at The Loft.
