Have you seen Jesus this week? Have your eyes been open and watching for His presence in your everyday life? I hope so. He certainly walked with me this week. I had to choose which circumstance to share with you today, because He was very present in my life of late.
Last Monday, I went to an Atlanta suburb to have lunch with our girl, Bree. Bree is in college in the city, and I wanted to go down to see her and visit her new campus. Combining my visit with lunch was, of course, the reasonable thing to do, since she is not in class during the lunch hour, and because one should never miss an opportunity to visit a new restaurant.
Bree and I were so blessed to have my friend, Susan Norris, meet us for lunch. I introduced you to Susan in this post last week. She is my friend who is a voice for hope in the world of human sex trafficking. Susan lives near Bree’s college, and had offered to be her Atlanta go-to person in case of emergency or need.
Bree and I met Susan at a beautiful little tea room. Our visit was full of laughter and chatting. Susan shared about herself, her family, and the work she does. She asked Bree lots of questions about the things that interest Bree, and what kind of things she wanted to know about the area in which her college is located. Susan spent almost two hours with us, telling Bree about her church, and the wonderful college and career opportunities there. She also shared about a couple of groups of young women that she thought Bree might be interested in meeting. My heart was so blessed by Susan’s interest in getting to know Bree, and help her find some friends in the area. Truly, Susan shared the heart of Jesus with Bree and me that day. In Susan’s willingness to spend time with us over lunch, we saw the love and care of Jesus that day. Blessed my heart so much!
