Today’s word for New Word Wednesday is totally foreign to me….never heard or seen it before. It does, however, seem to describe me on more occasions than I care to admit. I can see many contexts in which it could be used, so here goes.
IMBROGLIO – /’im-brol-yo/ – a confused mass; an intricate or complicated situation (as in a drama or novel); an acutely painful or embarrassing misunderstanding; a violently confused or bitterly complicated altercation.
USAGE: The political IMBROGLIO in Egypt is a cause for great concern among Americans and Israelis. OR The IMBROGLIO between Joe’s wife and ex-wife causes him great distress.
