The past two weekends have brought me so much joy and delight as I spoke at two ladies retreats, as well as the evening service at FBC Blairsville. I am continually amazed at the wonderful opportunities the Lord opens before me to share what He has done with a life that was lived so selfishly for so many years. Praise You, Jesus!
On February 18 and 19, I spent an amazing two days with the ladies of Brainerd Baptist Church. I think I most definitely got the greater blessing at this retreat. I walked into the amphitheatre at Brasstown Valley Resort to a group of about 70 ladies. At least half of them were under the age of 50, and I nearly went face-to-the-floor when I realized it. I love women of all ages, but it was a special treat to be able to present the Legacy messages to women in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. If only I had realized in my 20’s and 30’s that with every action and word, I was building my legacy. Perhaps I would have made different life choices. These girls were hungry for a word from the Lord and I offered them what the Lord had given me. Ladies, thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving you!
This past weekend found me at a beautiful home on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, Georgia with a group of ladies from Macedonia Baptist Church. This group was predominantly older ladies, with the oldest being a very spry and sharp 95 year old. She was the cutest thing and not a hair out of place. (Lord, please let me be like her if I live to be 95.) These ladies, too, came hungry to hear from God and I offered them what the Lord had given me on the topic of intimacy. The most touching portion of the retreat came, I believe, when we considered the importance of FORGIVENESS as a prerequisite to intimacy. Hearts were touched and lives were impacted. Praise God!
Last night, I joined my pastor, Dr. Fred Lodge, on the platform at FBC for a message about the importance of praying God’s Word back to Him. What a powerful tool in our prayer arsenal! We pondered the power of the spoken Word, personalizing Scripture and turning Bible verses into prayers. Bro. Fred and I took favorite verses provided by the audience, as well as a few of our own, and modeled how easy it is to pray those verses back to the Lord.
I want to give a shout of praise to the Lord for keeping me healthy and able to do that which I had commited to do. There is so much illness around this town right now, and it is nothing short of a stinkin’ miracle that I stayed healthy for these three events. I praise God for giving me the words to say as I spoke. My desire is always to speak His Words and not my own. I pray that, instead of seeing Leah, each audience saw Jesus, Jesus and only Jesus.
I think Sunday night’s message will go up on our church’s web page sometime this week and when/if it does, I’ll post a link to it.
Have a blessed day!
