I wanted so much for my husband, Greg, to write his version of our LOVE story for today’s post, but he has declined. I am very disappointed. It is always interesting to me to hear the same story from two different perspectives. Everyone has different life experiences that impact how they view situations and the Adams love story would be no different. Maybe one day I’ll convince him to share here at The Point.
Today I want to share how I have seen God’s tender LOVE for me this past week. It has been HUGE to me and I am so thankful to Him.
This weekend I served the ladies of Brainerd Baptist Church at their annual ladies retreat. I had been eagerly anticipating this event for months and had spent much time in prayer over every aspect of it. One focus of prayer had been for good health for me. It seems like over the past week everyone I came in contact with had some sort of crud. I kept praying, “Lord, please don’t let me become ill and have to miss this event. PLEASE!”
God was so tender in His love and care for me about this issue. In the middle of the week, I pulled out a personalized Bible verse from the bowl that sits on my coffee table and what do you think the verse was? It was one that I memorized in 2010 from Psalm 139. Here is what I saw when I opened the paper:
How precious is the love of God that He would tenderly remind me that He made me and is in control of all that happens to me! I felt peaceful and so very much in His care from that moment on. I knew that if I did become ill, there was a purpose in it and He would work everything out.
Every day I learn that my relationship with God is really all about trust. Trusting Him to do what is best for me. Trusting Him to care for me. Every time I trust Him, I always find Him faithful. When I find Him faithful, my faith grows and encourages me to trust Him in something else. In this way, He and I build relationship.
Hebrews 11: 1 (NIV)Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
