What do you post when you have no post? Well, pictures, of course. I thought today would be fine day to share a picture album of some of the things that have been going on in our life of late.
This spring we have had squatters. You know, the kind that move in, make a mess, and leave. Our squatters were the two-legged chirping kind. Once again Mother Bird built onto her nest in the corner of our deck roof. We knew she was back by the massive amount of bird droppings that she deposited on the deck floor. Last week, I went out one day with my binocs and saw that baby birds were literally bursting out of the nest. Greg took a few pictures, much to Mother Bird’s dismay, and then we let them be. That evening, just like that, they flew the coop. Gone without so much as a good-bye.
Our beautiful Bree graduated from Young Harris College on May 10th. We had the pleasure of hosting her mom, Tracey, and a family friend, Cynthia, who were in the States for Bree’s graduation. Graduation was a lovely affair, and we were so proud of Bree.
One extra benefit to attending Bree’s graduation was that I got to see my roommate from YHC, Gail. We have kept in touch over the years, but have not seen each other very often. This year’s commencement speaker was a friend of Gail’s, an acquaintance of mine, and a former YHC student. You may have heard of her. Trisha Yearwood. Trisha was in and out of our room often when we were students at YHC. In fact, there are seven girls who became friends at YHC, who have remained friends to this day. My roommate, Gail, and Trisha were two of the seven. So, since Trisha was speaking, the seven of them held a mini-reunion at YHC. I had the privilege of having lunch with them after graduation. It was so good to re-connect with them.
In late April I spoke at First Baptist Church in Snellville, Georgia. (Everybody is somebody in Snellville, you know!) It was such a privilege to share the topic of LEGACY with these amazing ladies. The highlight of the day for me was getting to see, and spend a bit of time with my friend, Kathy. It had been ages since we had seen one another in person, and it was a blessing to my heart for her to be at the event.
No post would be complete without a few food pictures, right?
Okay, enough of my mess. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. See you Monday.
