Can you believe it?? We have only 8 more verses to go and we will have memorized 24 verses in 2010! Woo hoo. Are you hanging in there with us? I hope so. However, if you have missed a few verses, do not lose heart! Get back in the game and start today with a new verse. Purpose in your heart to do whatever it takes to memorize God’s Word.
I will be honest with you…these last couple of months have been hard for me. Several times, I have gone days and days without thinking of my memory verse. The enemy is trying very hard to distract me from my memorizing because he knows that hiding God’s Word in my heart arms me with an infallible sword that will bring his devilish hind end down.
I understand how Paul felt when he said that the things he wanted to do, he did not do; while the things he did not want to do, he did. I really, really want to memorize Scripture, but the fact is, I do not work on it every day because I allow myself to get distracted by other things. Note that I said, “I allow” myself. I make the choice to not focus on my verses sometimes and that is when the enemy gains a foothold.
I want to finish Challenge 2010 WELL and I know you do too, so let’s be accountable to one another and encourage each other on in our race. Ok, now to the 17th verse. Here is mine:
Psalm 139: 17 (NIV)
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is
the sum of them!
Ok, let’s see your 17th verse. Stay the course and let’s finish the race!!
