I don’t know about you, but I look forward to these Heart Notes posts. I feel like they are little notes from Jesus to encourage us and remind us of His love for us. I hope you feel the same way.

Yesterday was Easter, or as I prefer to call it, Resurrection Sunday; arguably the most Holy Day in Christianity. It truly is my favorite holiday because it’s truths are the bedrock of our faith.
- Jesus, the perfect, sinless Son of God came to earth as a man
- Jesus, the ultimate sacrifice for sin, died on a cross to pay the debt that each of us owed for the disobedience and ugliness of sin in our lives
- Jesus, the omnipotent second member of the Trinity, overcame the power of death and the grave, and rose to life on the third day after His crucifixion.
- Jesus, the One who sits at the right hand of God in heaven, ever lives to plead our case before God. (I’m not sure how He has time to plead your case, because I give Him so much work to do on my behalf!!)
I suppose that every Christian reading this post would probably agree with every one of those four truths, right?
There is another truth that dovetails beautifully with those four that we sometimes seem to forget, or perhaps, we don’t know how to live it out. Let’s consider Galatians 2:20 (NKJV):
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
There is so much in that verse that I could write at least 5 other Heart Notes posts, but I want to pick out one truth today. Here it is:
When I accepted Jesus as my Savior and best friend, Leah got nailed to the cross and died. Now Jesus lives in Leah, so what the world should see when they look at Leah is Jesus, and only Jesus.
- Does the world see Jesus when they look at me?
- Do I think like Jesus because I have Him living in my heart?
- Do I speak like Jesus because I have Him living in my heart?
- Do I act like Jesus because I have Him living in my heart?
- Do I love like Jesus because I have Him living in my heart?
I fear that, all too often, Leah is more prominent than Jesus as I go about the daily-ness of my days. So, what do I do about that? The answer is that every day I must offer myself, once again, as a sacrifice to God. I must consciously choose to allow Jesus to live through me.
What about you? In the afterglow of Resurrection Sunday, I challenge you to ask yourself those same questions.
