Our 8th verse in Challenge 2010 Scripture Memory Challenge. Can you say all seven of the previous verses? Since I am memorizing Psalm 139, I frequently recite all the verses that I have memorized up to the current verse that I am working on.

Do you have a scripture memory accountability partner? Not a bad idea. Someone to keep you accountable to memorize those verses AND someone whom you can hold accountable to memorize their verses.

I have been so encouraged lately about this Scripture memory challenge. I’ve had several women who live in my hometown tell me that, although they do not post their verses on the blog, they are being faithful to memorize the Word. They have also shared with me the impact that this practice has had on them. PRAISE GOD!!

One of those women, who happens to be going through some major stress in her family, told me that she is so thankful I issued this Challenge. She said that she is not sure how in the world she would get through what she is going through if she was not memorizing the very verses that she has been working on. Listen, girls, God’s Word NEVER returns void. It always accomplishes the purpose for which it is intended. The same verse may accomplish one purpose in your life and a completely different purpose in someone else’s life. THAT, my Scripture memorizing sisters, is the beauty of the Word.

Let me share with you my verse for the last two weeks of April. It is Psalm 139: 8 from the NIV.

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;

if I make my bed in the depths,

you are there.

Woo, hoo. What kind of awesome news is that!! No matter where we go, God is there!!

Ok, you’re on. Leave a comment with your verse completely written out, the reference, translation, your name and location. As always, feel free to invite your friends to join us. Would love to have them jump right in here and start memorizing.
