Blessings

This has been a super busy week for me and writing has taken a back seat to everything else. Sometimes that happens, and that is ok because I gave priority to the things that deserved it. So, today, while I have been abundantly blessed this week in many ways, my post will be short.

{#151} – life – Waking up to another day. Some days make you want to pull the covers over your head and wish the sun had not dawned, but by and large, I am grateful for each day I get to breathe the pollen filled air of this spinning ball.

{#152} – text messages – We have received several text messages from Charlie in Guatemala telling us that he is well and is working hard. Yay for technology!!

{#153} – fresh lettuce – This week I picked fresh lettuce from our garden. Be still my heart! I love eating fresh vegetables from the garden. In the next week, I will cut collards and we will have fresh collard greens, also.

{#154} – coffee – I’m a decaf girl, but when I am called to stay up past my bedtime, I become a full-caf girl. Wednesday was one of those days!

{#155} – the privilege of prayer – The older I get, the more I go running to my heavenly Daddy with the cares and concerns of this world. While it feels comforting to talk to friends, the fact is that by and large, friends cannot impact whatever the situation is. God can and He waits to hear from us.

{#156} – sunshine – Today the sun is shining and I think it is due to be a beautiful holiday weekend. We have had a lot of rain this spring and much of it has occurred on the weekends, so the prospect of a beautiful weekend is a delight.

{#157} – a good medical report – This week my Mom had a routine medical test and the results came back good. Praise God!!

{#158} – Bree is back!! – On Wednesday night I picked Bree up from the Atlanta airport. She had a wonderful time visiting her family and friends at home in Australia. Greg and I missed her. She truly has become part of our family and it was so good to see her and hear her southern (Australian) accent. She has a summer job locally and so she went right to work this morning in spite of having just endured 24 hours in airports and airplanes.

{159} – a long holiday weekend – Memorial Day weekend. Good grief, where did that come from? It seems like it was Christmas only a week or two ago. Greg and I are looking forward to a bit of R&R with friends this weekend. I hope you are doing something fun and restful.

That’s it for today, friends. I will be back next week with a few things the Lord put on my heart and mind during this week. So, until then, have a wonderful weekend and let me know what blessings you are counting today.
