Today I continue counting my blessings. Each week brings new opportunities to stop, look, listen and perceive the blessings from the Lord toward my family and me. Honestly, this is something that doesn’t come easily for me. I go on fast forward all the time, so I have to be intentional about recognizing the blessings of the Lord. I’m getting better at it.
{#138} – Homemade Strawberry Jam – 1 Gallon fresh Strawberries + 10 pounds sugar + a few hours of my time = 20 half pints and 3 pints of homemade strawberry jam. Now that will make you happy, happy, happy.
{#139} – White azaleas – Love these beautiful blooms
{#140} – Baked sweet potato with butter and brown sugar
{#141} – Garden – This week we planted the final vegetables in our summer garden. Tomatoes, peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, carrots, lettuce, broccoli and collards will be what we will enjoy this summer. Here are a few pictures.
{#142} – Spruced up yard – I am not one to get outside and work in the yard. I don’t enjoy it like many people do and unfortunately my yard shows it. This week, however, our yard got its annual spring sprucing up. The weeds are gone, the shrubs are trimmed and fresh pine bark has been placed in the beds. Yay!!! It looks so nice. Now, if I would just keep it that way.
{#143} – Biscuits – On Sunday Bree sent me pictures via Snapchat of the homemade biscuits she made for her family in Australia. They were beautiful!! I was so proud of her.
{#144} – Snapchat – Do you Snapchat? I’ve just begun, but it is quite fun.
{#145} – Lunch with Cindy
{#146} – A to-die-for facial – This week I treated myself to a facial by my awesome friend, Kippie. She does the absolute best facial ever!!!
{#147} – Watching God’s plan for someone else fall in place – more about this later
{#148} – Smell of fresh cut grass that reminds me of my Daddy
{#149} – Reminder from Scripture of the LOVE of God
{#150} – Travel mercies – Greg and I were very nearly in a head-on collision this week. The oncoming driver, thinking he was still in a passing lane, pulled out to pass a truck. Problem was he was no longer in a passing lane. He was in OUR LANE. Thankfully, the other driver realized his mistake and swerved back into his lane before disaster struck. The Lord protected us from harm and I am mighty grateful.
What blessings are you counting with me today?
