Blessings

{#125} – Spending time with Bree – On May 1st, I had the opportunity to spend some time with Bree as I drove her to Atlanta to catch her flight home to Australia. We shared some great conversation and a wonderful lunch at Jim ‘N Nicks.

{#127} – Ministry – I had the privilege of speaking to the ladies at Sanctuary Baptist Church in Loganville, Georgia on Friday evening, May 3rd at their Mother’s Day Dinner and Social. What sweet group! During dinner I sat with four generations of one family. How cool is that! The theme of the evening was LEGACY and, what do you know, that just happens to be my heartbeat. The director of women’s ministry at SBC was a dynamo named Julie and she was delightful to work with. I closed my message with an invitation and prayer to accept Jesus as Lord. One precious young woman raised her hand, indicating that she had prayed along with me to make Jesus her very best friend, Lord, and Savior of her life. I had asked the Lord for at least one soul for the Kingdom from this event. Thank you Jesus! Thank you!

{#128} – Meeting ladies who are doing the Legacy study – A group of about 25 ladies at Sanctuary Baptist Church are doing the Legacy study. What a blessing it was to my heart to hear how their lives are being impacted by the study. Praise God!!

{#129} – Sneak peek – I got a sneak peek at the cover that the wonderful artistic designer at Warner Press has designed for my When Words Won’t Come devotional booklet. Oooohhhhh!! I love it and can’t wait for the booklet to be available for purchase.

{#130} – Vital Signs study – I have officially scheduled a time and location for teaching the Vital Signs: Lessons from the Seven Churches of the Revelation locally. I had thought it would happen in June, but because of vacation and the July 4th holiday, it will start Monday, July 8th and run for 4 weeks. We will meet in Building H at First Baptist Church in Blairsville. If you live locally in the north Georgia area, I invite you to attend. I learned soooooo much while researching these churches and I’m eager to share it with you.

{#131} – Google Maps on my iPhone – I’m not a huge fan of GPS systems. I have one on my Explorer and it consistently gets me lost. I am a big fan, however, of Google Maps on my iPhone. It has been spot on every time I’ve used it.

{#132} – Freedom of Speech – I do not take lightly the fact that I can talk about Jesus here on the Internet or virtually anywhere else I please in America. I am thankful for that.

{#133} – Mentoring chats – Often I have the opportunity to sit a spell with young women and hear what is going on in their lives and perhaps pour into those same lives a bit. I had that opportunity this week a couple of times. I always pray that I speak God’s choice words to these young hearts.

{#134} – Giving – Greg and I have an opportunity to do something for someone very special to us and we are excited about it. ‘Nuf said. No details necessary.

{#135} – Watching a new generation take its place – On Sunday I attended a baby shower for a beautiful young woman WHOM I BABYSAT WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER. She is a wife, businesswoman and soon to be a mom. Hardly seems possible.

{#136} – Laughter – Last Sunday, Dennis Swanberg spoke at our church. Oh my, I laughed so much at him. He is a stitch!!!

{#137} – Happy Birthday – It is hard to believe that Charlie turned 21 yesterday. Sweet biscuits, where has the time gone? He was only 2 ½ when Greg and I married. The picture above is taken in April after we married in January of 1995. What a remarkable young man he has become. I would so appreciate your prayers for him. He leaves Sunday to lead a mission team to Guatemala for 4 weeks.

What blessings are you counting today?
