This week as we prepare to celebrate Resurrection Day tomorrow, the Holy Spirit is prompting me to view this most important of holidays through the lens of one of the most well known passages in all of Scripture. 1 Corinthians 13. The Love Chapter.

Each day this week, I invite you to join me as we glimpse the sacrifice of Jesus and the incredible resurrection through the lens of LOVE.

SATURDAY – Love always perseveres…1 Corinthians 13: 7

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem. Luke 9:51 (KJV)

Jesus knew what was coming. Torture, the sin of all mankind heaped upon him, separation from His Father, and death. He knew it all, yet He ‘steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem.

Me? I would have been hailing the first donkey heading toward anywhere but Jerusalem.

Not Jesus. He steadfastly set His face toward Jerusalem. He went for you. He went for me. No matter the cost, He persevered and finished His race well.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward. Now he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God’s throne in heaven. 3 Think about all he endured when sinful people did such terrible things to him, so that you don’t become weary and give up. Hebrews 12: 2-3 (NLT)

Love always perseveres……………..
