This week as we prepare to celebrate Resurrection Day on Sunday, the Holy Spirit is prompting me to view this most important of holidays through the lens of one of the most well known passages in all of Scripture. 1 Corinthians 13. The Love Chapter.
Each day this week, I invite you to join me as we glimpse the sacrifice of Jesus and the incredible resurrection through the lens of LOVE.
Love does not boast……. 1 Corinthians 13:4
11 Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews ?” And Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” 12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He did not answer. 13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so the governor was quite amazed. Matthew 27:11-14 (NAS)
Jesus could have shouted His deity.
He could have refuted the lies.
He could have called down angels to strike dead every single person accusing Him.
He could have….but He didn’t.
He didn’t because He loved you and me.
He had a mission to fulfill, a walk to take, a cross to die on….his death would bring life to all who would accept it. ( click to tweet )
