Hey Everyone,
This is not the weekly edition of The Point so after you read this you will find The Point next in line.
Today I began to see that my prayers (no, actually my begging God) for wisdom are beginning to pay off. The Holy Spirit has been prompting me to pray for wisdom in all things so much lately and so I’ve been doing just that. Let me tell you how I saw that wisdom begin to manifest itself.
On Sunday afternoons I lead a Beth Moore (who else?) Bible study as part of our church’s Sunday summer learning series. Our group meets from 5pm till 7pm. This past week was so busy with my husband and me going in different directions and hardly seeing each other. I worked Thursday through Saturday (10 plus hour days) and Greg went to Birmingham to see his son. When we talked earlier in the week about what was going on Sunday, I could tell that he really wished that I would be home on Sunday afternoon, even though he had made a tee time to play golf with some buddies. He had planned to get home about the time I would be leaving for Bible study. He didn’t say too much but I could just tell—we women know our men!!
On Saturday the Holy Spirit began prompting me to find someone else to lead Bible study Sunday afternoon and stay home with my man. I called my friend, Joy, who is part of the group, explained what I was sensing the Spirit say and asked if she would lead the group. She never missed a beat and said, “Absolutely”. When I told Greg on Saturday evening during our phone conversation that I would be staying home to be with him, I could tell he was so happy that I had chosen time with him.
If we were having confession time, I would be quick to admit that I have not always chosen my husband over my other activities (church or otherwise). So, as I write this post and wait for Greg to come home from golfing, I ‘ve got a yummy dinner cooking in the kitchen and I’m looking forward to just visiting with my man. And, you know what else?? I found that he had unloaded the dishwasher before he went to play golf!!! Ha, what a man!!! I am blessed, blessed, blessed.
