Welcome back to my little corner of the blogosphere. Today is Friday Blessings day — a day to count my blessings. Of course, I count them every day, but on Fridays I am being intentional about naming my blessings. I have not decided whether this will be an every Friday post or just a occasional Fridays, so expect them when you see them.
{14} – safe travels – As we were coming home from our trip to Florida last weekend, we were about 30 miles from home when a man in another car motioned for my husband to roll down his window. Greg obliged and the man shouted that we had a big knot on the front left tire. We were not sure if it was the tire on the truck or the RV. Greg drove much slower then normal for the rest of the trip home. When we got the RV backed up under the shed and looked at the tires, we discovered that it was the RV tire and this is what we found. Needless to say, we were both rejoicing and thanking Jesus that the tire did not blow out on the interstate. A true blessing for us!!
{15} – cake pan – I make a lot of pound cakes throughout the year. For many years, it has been next to impossible to find a tube pan. They seemed to have gone the way of the dinosaur. I could find all kinds of angel food cake pans, but that won’t work for a pound cake. While we were in Florida, we were wandering through Target, or as I like to call it, Tar-jhay. Behold!!! A tube pan….in red. I nearly had a fit right there. That blessing went immediately into my shopping cart!!
{16} – sunday morning breakfast – Sunday morning found us partaking of homemade biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage patties, and homemade peach jam before we went to church. This is southern breakfast food at its best. Took me back 40 years to breakfast at my grandparent’s home. Mmmm!!
{17} – exercise – I love the feeling that a good workout gives me. Whether it is swimming laps or walking, a workout is good for the body and soul.
{18} – lunch with my bff – My bestie, Cindy, and I had lunch on Tuesday. That may not sound like a big deal, but rest assured, it is. We have both been going like crazy women for the past few months and have not had much girl time. It was so good to visit over lunch!! I love you, my friend.
{19} – bible study girls – What a blessing my Tuesday morning girls are! We have studied the Word together for almost 13 years. Iron sharpening iron!
{20} – feedback – I received word from a satisfied customer who bought several boxes of my greeting cards that she wanted MORE. Yay!! Praying they bless!!
{21} – comfy slippers – The minute I hit the door of my home, my shoes come off and on go my slippers. Just got new ones to replace a pair that I had worn slap out. I’m loving them!!
{22} – hot showers – I like my shower temperature so hot that I nearly come out with first degree burns….especially in the winter.
{23} – young women – I have the awesome privilege of being friends with and speaking into the lives of some pretty special young women. They bless me so much and I love them like crazy.
{24} – basketball – Watching my young friend, Bree, play basketball for Young Harris College. I’m so proud of the woman she is becoming and honored to be her friend.
{25} – conviction – I am so thankful for the witness of the Holy Spirit in my life when I have erred in my walk. He is always faithful to convict me of my disobedience. More about that later, perhaps.
{26} – forgiveness – from God and others.
MEDITATION MOMENT: What blessing can you count with me today?
