If you read my blog last week you saw three posts pertaining to the current book that I am reading by Francis Chan entitled “Crazy Love”. If you didn’t see those posts, I hope you will take a moment and go to my archives and read them.
This weekend the Lord began speaking to me about loving Him with the same kind of love that He has for me—a crazy love, a radical love, a love that knows no limits. On page 93 of “Crazy Love” Chan’s quote by Tim Kizziar drove home to me what the Lord was saying. Kizziar says,
” Our greatest fear as individuals and as a church should not be of failure but of succeeding at things in life that don’t really matter.”
Whew!! Oh my goodness!! Help me, Jesus, to succeed at things that really matter to you.
In response to the Lord encouraging me to go deeper with Him, I believe He desires for me to offer to you a “Crazy Love” book study/internet discussion group, of sorts. Here is what I am pondering:
- If there are several of us who are interested in reading “Crazy Love” and engaging in some discussion via the internet, I would like to offer to facilitate this group. You DO NOT have to be a blogger to participate, just a seeker and lover of Jesus.
- This would last for 10 weeks and we would focus only on one chapter each week. The chapters are about 14 pages long, so this is very do-able.
- I will set up a separate blog devoted to discussing and pondering on “Crazy Love”.
- I would like to give everyone time to purchase the book and read the preface and Chapter 1. You can go to http://www.crazylovebook.com/ and find retailers who stock the book. Think Lifeway Christian Stores, Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, etc. The book is only around $14.
- On March 18th we will begin our discussion when I will post a chapter 1 overview, a few questions for discussion and a challenge. You will then be invited to leave your comments and questions as we begin our discussion group.
- Even if you have never left a comment on a blog, you can participate by signing up for a Google ID or even just leaving an anonymous comment. I will ask that all anonymous comment be signed, please.
- Please share this with friends and family members. The more participants we have, the more in-depth our discussions will be.
- Finally, if you are interested in participating, please either leave a comment on this post or send me an email (using the contact form on my blog) letting me know that you will participate.
I look forward to hearing from you and I believe the Lord has some exciting things in store for us.
